A guardian of one of the buildings of Las Pozas. Plants and animals, including this large spider, a golden silk orb-weaver, thrive in the richness of San Luis Potosí Huasteca rain forest.

Las Pozas is a sculpture garden built by the British Edward James in the tropical rain forest in the mountains of San Luis Potosí, México, near to the town of Xilitla. Edward James, who also gave patronage to the surrealist art movement in México, created this garden between 1949 and 1984 with the help of Plutarco Gastelum.
