Ferns are a very ancient family of plants, early fern fossils have been found from 360 million years ago. They are older than land animals and far older than the dinosaurs.

There are about 12,000 species in the world today and they grow in many different habitats.

Mother nature is a wonderful engineer; what a beautifully intricate example of her work. I love the colours, they contrast with the greens of the background superbly.
